This Is the Life: Paige Koff's Fashion Boutique

Every great concept starts with connection. “The name The Life came from a conversation with my best friend while we were dreaming up the boutique,” founder Paige Koff recalls. “From the beginning, the vision was to create a place that fit into every part of a woman’s life, a cozy candle for home, the perfect everyday sweats, beautiful home décor, inspiring books, bath essentials, and something special to wear when celebrating life’s moments.”

The name, she says, is really shorthand for a feeling: “I kept coming back to The Life because it represents all of the little things that make everyday life feel more beautiful, more joyful, and a little more like you’re living your best life.”

More Than a Feeling

In June, Koff closed the chapter on her Westfield shop of the same name in favor of something more personal. “While I truly loved being part of the downtown Westfield community, I knew I needed a slightly smaller, more intimate space to create the kind of shopping experience I had always envisioned for my clients,” she says. “The Westfield store was beautiful but quite large, and it didn’t quite allow for the closeness and curation I wanted.”

Her move to Millburn changed that equation entirely. The fresh start allowed Koff to refine and elevate the retail experience she offers. “It’s more intimate, more curated, and very intentionally designed to make every customer feel at home while still discovering something special,” she says.

The Fall Edit

As fall fashion takes center stage, Koff looks forward to a sense of ease that is entirely by design. The mood is relaxed—oversized blazers, wide-leg denim, and easy layers that feel polished without trying too hard. “I’m excited that fall is moving toward effortless dressing,” she says. “Rich chocolate browns, warm neutrals, and deep olive feel timeless, while suede, soft knits, and beautifully lived-in denim add so much texture.”

The Life keeps its foundation in longtime favorite brands LNA, Stateside, Mother denim, and Pharaoh Collection—selected for exceptional quality, thoughtful fabrication, refined color stories, and impeccable fit, according to Koff. But her favorite part of styling is accessories because she feels they ultimately bring a look to life. Matte Porcelain remains the jewelry staple.

New seasonal updates at The Life include fall denim from Citizens of Humanity and Agolde, essentials from Perfect White Tee, and a more contemporary accessory edge with Tat2 jewelry. “Six Fifty’s blazers and jackets are incredibly versatile and perfect for layering, and Agolde’s updated washes and novelty silhouettes feel both fresh and wearable,” Koff says.

Living Her Best Life

Koff is no stranger to Millburn. Before opening her store in town, she often made runs to Millburn Deli and spent afternoons in the park with her daughters. For her, this is a full-circle moment. “I’ve always loved Millburn,” she says. “I’ve always loved the energy and charm of the town, and I truly feel like my shop fits right into it.”

Her vision for the space is sensory and immersive and built to linger. “My hope is that when people walk in, it feels like a breath of fresh air,” she says. “That it smells good, feels good, sounds good—the music, the energy, everything.”

As Koff roots herself in a new community, she hopes to build strong relationships with her clients. She hopes loyalty grows organically so that soon customers will be excited to share the experience with their friends.

Koff knows it takes a great staff to make those personal connections and is happy to have Kat Quattrocchi by her side. “Kat joined The Life about a year ago, and I honestly can’t imagine this chapter without her,” she says. “From day one, she brought so much personality, creativity, and energy to the brand. She’s an incredibly talented stylist, a smart businesswoman, the driving force behind so much of our social media, and one of my closest friends.”

Off the clock, Koff’s definition of an elevated life is refreshingly simple: flowers, candlelight, good wine, and slow mornings. “I try to slow down and be present, whether that’s sitting by the pool and having coffee with my husband, Zach, and my three pups or watching a movie with Zach and my girls. For me, it’s those small, thoughtful choices that really define an elevated life.”
